Social Media Tops Ad Spend in Hong Kong

Total ad spend in HK decreased by 5% Y-o-Y in Q32025 with overall spend valued at HKD 8.58 billion (USD 1.097 billion). According to admanGo, social media was the top advertising channel in the city. Despite the current economic environment and weak consumer confidence, sectors like banking, pharmaceuticals, and beverages recorded annual growth in advertising spending during Q3.

From a media perspective, social media ranked first in ad spending, growing 17% Y-o-Y, followed by mobile and TV in second and third place respectively. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) ended in fourth place with a 13% market share. Interestingly, traditional media also saw some growth, with both outdoor and magazine ad spend rising 5%.
